Zee TV and Zee Anmol from Zee stable were largest gainers in Week 49 of BARC ratings among Pay and FTA channels respectively. Even as Star Plus retained its leadership, Colors further closed in the gap despite both the channel losing eyeballs this week. Zee TV at No. 3 was the largest gainer by adding 41192 (Rat 000s).

According to the select data shared by BARC India for Week 49 for Hindi general entertainment channels (December 5 to December 11) {HSM : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Ratings (000s)}, Star Plus stayed at the top position despite losing maximum eyeballs this week while Colors came further close to Star Plus. Zee TV, Life OK, Sony and SAB TV retained their positions.

Star Plus retained the leadership position with a small margin from the No. 2 channel. Star Plus had recorded a gross viewership of 751510 (last week 796378).

Colors, despite losing viewership this week, stayed firm at No. 2. The channel had recorded a gross viewership of 746799 (last week 763601).

By adding maximum 41192 TVTs, Zee TV grew to a gross viewership of 718536 against last week's 677344.

Life OK witnessed a significant drop in its viewership and recorded a gross viewership of 474327 (last week 516234).

Sony Entertainment Television grew further to a gross viewership of 429400 against last week's 412016.

SAB TV was at No. 6 position with a gross viewership of 356366 (last week 396853).

FTA channels

Among FTA channels, Zee Anmol strengthened its leadership position with a gross viewership of 779821 (last week 756154).

Star Utsav was at No. 2 with a gross viewership of 568630 (last week 561813).

Rishtey climbed up to No. 3 this week with a gross viewership of 305570 (last week 305368).

Sony Pal lost maximum eyeballs among FTA channels and slipped to No. 4. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 302045 (last week 366535).

Top 5 programmes on Hindi GECs

As per select data (HSM : NCCS All : Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs) : Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Colors' Naagin held No. 1 slot in the second week in a row. The show garnered an average viewership of 17819 (last week 19576).

Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' was at No. 2 with an average viewership of 15344 (last week 17293).

'Kumkum Bhagya' on Zee TV was at third position with a viewership of 13811 (last week 138250.

Colors' second show in top 5 was 'Sasural Simar Ka' that fetched an average viewership of 12963 (last week 13466).

Zee Anmol's 'Ek Se Bhale Do' was at No. 5 with an average viewership of 12492 (last week 12712).
