SAB TV has announced the launch of a new light-hearted weekday comic show named 'Peterson Hill'. This story is inspired from a quaint little picturesque railway station in a small town set amidst the lush mountains of Shimla. It will go on air from January 26, Monday to Friday at 10:30 PM.

The show will replace the channel's longest running show 'FIR' which will go off air after nine years. During July to August in 2014, the show was shifted to a weekend property with the launch of its show 'Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hain'. It had then tried a stint with standup comedy but failed to capture the audience. FIR later again shifted back to the weekday slot of 10:30 PM.

The story of 'Peterson Hill' revolves around the life of a station master and the simple people living in the town. Actor Ronit Roy will be playing the role of the station master whose screen name is 'Kishore Chadha'. He is a simple man by nature and believes in doing good deeds in favour of humanism and mankind. Sucheta Khanna plays the role of his wife, who is very proud of her husband and his ideals.  Along with them, there are several characters in the serial who play an important role in the new serial. So 'Peterson Hill', revolves around the colourful characters who live in and around the station as well as some travellers whose stories sometimes get entangled with those living in the town. The beauty of this place is that, people here live in harmony and they share their sorrows and joys with each other as one big family.

Anooj Kapoor, Senior EVP & Business Head, SAB TV, said, “The concept of 'Peterson Hill' is fresh and first of its kind on Indian television.  The story captures the beauty and romance of a railway station in the hills and it accentuates our philosophy of 'Asli Mazaa SAB ke saath'. The reason why we decided to take off FIR is because we have done more than 1,300 episodes and the ratings have also reached a stage of stagnancy. It is one of our evergreen properties and we plan to get it back if we sense any demand from the audience. We also plan to strengthen our weekday and weekend programming, but nothing as of now till the IPL.”

Speaking on marketing plans, he said, “It is a well integrated campaign and we are using digital, outdoor and television. On the digital front, our aim is to build conversations around the 'Peterson Hill'. There will be an app which we will launch on the same day as of the show.”

Ashwini Dheer, Producer, Garmina Productions, said, “We have worked with SAB TV on many shows in the past, it has been a great experience producing clean and light-hearted comedies. With 'Peterson Hill', we present a fresh look at life through the eyes of a station master in a railway station set up.”
