Star Plus will be adding a new show to its prime time slot from August 31 – 'Sumit Sambhal Lega'. This Indian version of popular international sitcom, 'Everybody Loves Raymond', will be aired Monday to Saturday at 10.00 pm. The show offers a light-hearted take on how after marriage a man often finds himself caught between the two most important ladies in his life – his mother and his wife.

'Sumit Sambhal Lega' tells the story of a Delhi-based Punjabi family and stars actor Namit Das as the protagonist Sumit Walia. Sumit is a sports journalist who unwillingly finds himself in a constant tug-of-war between his wife Maya and his mother Dolly. To make matters worse, his gluttonous overbearing father and unmarried and insecure older brother add to his already chaotic life. Sumit is the everyday man who aspires to be an ideal son, loving husband, doting father and successful professional – all rolled into one. While trying to maintain a fine balance in all the relationships, he often finds himself in sticky and tricky situations which lead to funny moments in his life.

'Sumit Sambhal Lega' has been produced by DJ's - A Creative Unit. Producer Deeya Singh said, “I wanted to bring theatre on TV – to give viewers an experience as if the actors are performing live in their homes. It's been a great learning with many firsts for me through this show, the process which as producers we (Tony and Deeya Singh) were involved in like the writer's room, rehearsals before actual shoots, four camera set-up and working closely with the international creative team like Steve Skrovan.”

'Sumit Sambhal Lega' will be directed by Shashant Shah, who has previously directed Bollywood movies like 'Dasvidaniya' and 'Chalo Dilli'. Actors Parmeet Sethi and Devan Bhojani will also be directing few episodes.

'Sumit Sambhal Lega' will also involve the writer and co-producer of the original series – Steve Skrovan, who oversaw the entire creative process. The workshops conducted with Skrovan ensured that the show stayed true to its nature and retained the essence of the original show.

Currently, 'Tere Shehar Mein' is airing in the weekly 10 pm time slot, which is likely to be shifted to the 10.30 pm slot as the show now airing in the 10.30 pm slot, 'Dosti, Yaariyan and Manmarziyan', will wrap up on August 29.
