Ideo.org ropes in Ektaa Aggarwal as Creative Director for New York

Aggarwal, who will also be the Office Co-Lead, moves from Landor in India, where she was Creative Director for almost four years

Ideo.org, a non-profit design organisation, has appointed Ektaa Aggarwal as Creative Director for New York and Office Co-Lead. In this role, she will plan, guide, deliver, and support multiple Ideo.org initiatives, while creating leading-edge ways to demonstrate the value of human-centered design to the social sector. She will also be responsible for building a multi-disciplinary team.

Prior to Ideo.org, Aggarwal was Creative Director of Landor in India for almost four years. With over 14 years of experience, she has worked across agencies such as Momentum, McCann Erickson, DDB, Spike Lee, Kraftworks, Heller Communications, and Platinum Design, New York. Prior yp joining Landor, Aggarwal ran her own medium-agnostic design studio, 369 Inc, in Mumbai.

Commenting on Aggarwal’s appointment, Jocelyn Wyatt, Executive Director and Co-lead, Ideo.org, said, “We’re thrilled to be joined by Ektaa, who brings deep expertise in design, branding, and innovation. Her experience working in the markets we serve will be invaluable as will her leadership skills, which will be put into practice running Ideo.org’s new studio in New York.”

Aggarwal added here, “Ideo.org believes that human-centered design can empower communities by creating solutions for the causes of poverty. I am thrilled to be working in innovation for the social sector. I will be supporting the teams by creating engaging stories about our work in New York and mentoring the next generation of design thinkers to take Ideo.org’s vision forward. What I look forward to the most is a lot of time in the field.”

During the course of her career, Aggarwal has worked with diverse brands like Mahindra, Barista, The Park Hotel, Coca-Cola, Guggenheim Museum, American Express, Vespa, Anita Dongre and Tata, among many others.
