DD Sports to telecast live the World University Games from today

DD Sports will telecast live the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade or World University Games from today. This is the first time that DD Sports will be airing the 12-day University Games event live, which is being held at Gwangju, Korea.

2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade is a multi-sport event with international participation from university students and is the largest sporting event after the Olympics. DD Sports has worked out a marathon telecast plan for these games, which includes more than 180 hours of coverage between July 3 and 14.

The telecast will include live action from ground zero, commentary from the scene of action and analysis and discussions on the game by panel of experts. The Gwangju Summer Universiade will see the participation of more than 25,000 athletes from 170 universities around the world. There are 13-14 representatives from India at the games this year.

The channel’s social media team will complement the coverage of the games with latest updates on Twitter, Facebook and analysis by experts in the blog space.

DD Sports in the recent months has initiated the process of enrichment of its content to present holistic coverage of global sports. The channel will be airing quite a few major sporting events in the coming months. After the Asian Racing Championship, World University Games is the second major big ticket event lined up for its viewers.
