GEC Watch: Colors closes gap with Star Plus

Colors, Life OK and SAB TV add more viewers in Week 22 of BARC ratings. There is no change in pecking order of top 5 Hindi GECs

Week 22 of BARC 2015 witnessed Colors closing the gap with Star Plus as the latter lost viewership by 10 million. Colors, Life OK and SAB TV registered growth while Zee TV's viewership was stable compared with last week. There is no change in the pecking order of the top 5 Hindi GECs.

According to select data publicly available on BARC India's website for Week 22 (May 30 – June 5) for HSM, 1L+ Individuals, Star Plus retained the top slot followed by Colors at No. 2. Zee TV, Life OK and SAB TV were at No. 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

Star Plus lost 10 million TVTs this week and recorded a gross viewership of 396 million (last week 406 million).

Colors registered growth in its viewership this week and moved closer to Star Plus. The channel recorded a gross rating of 368 million (last week 361 million.

Zee TV was stable at 233 million gross ratings.

Life OK added more eyeballs this week to reach to a gross rating of 230 million (last week 224 million).

SAB TV added 16 million to its gross ratings and crossed 200-million mark this week. The channel recorded a gross rating of 203 million (last week 187 million).
