New York Festivals (NYF) International Advertising Awards has received entries from 89 countries and 2,712 companies for the 2015 Worlds Best Advertising competition.

“Receiving this robust number of entries from so many prominent companies and countries confirms that the strategic creative initiatives NYF has launched these past years are being enthusiastically endorsed by the international ad industry,” said Jim Smyth, CEO, New York Festivals.

The 2015 awards ceremony will be held on May 21 at the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City.

New York Festivals milestone accomplishments include:

2015: New York Festivals has allowed students to become judges. This judging contest offers the opportunity for young creatives to enter through their school or on their own and test their creative instincts to see whose selections closest match the scores of the official NYF juries. Students earn accolades and a prize, all while viewing World's Best Advertising entries for 2015.

2014: NYF introduced patent-pending new trophies in the shape of New York City's iconic skyscrapers, whereby the creative credits and the award-winning work are projected from a hidden LCD video projector embedded in the base of new trophies. The trophies come in five different shapes, sizes and colours to define the level of award: Best of Show, Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize and Finalists. NYF polled 300 judges and 94 per cent voted to award small trophies to finalists instead of paper certificates, which rarely see the light of day.

Introduced 'You be the Judge' contest, whereby 500 professional advertising executives signed up to become non-official judges of the competition. This creative judging contest offered contestants the opportunity to compete by matching the official scores of the NYF juries. Award-winners whose choices closely matched the official jury's scores, earned bragging rights, accolades and prizes, all while viewing the World's Best Advertising entries.

NYF created the Torch Awards as an expression of their ongoing commitment to the development and promotion of young creative talent. NYF harnessed the power, knowledge, and experience of the World's Best Advertising Executive Jury to not only promote the mission of an important international non-profit organisation, but also to help young creative talent gain additional skills to help them elevate their careers.

2013: After receiving a record number of entries, 350 Grand Jury members, along with 30 worldwide chief creative officers cast 450,000 votes to select the World's Best Advertising.

2012: Created a two-tier judging system, whereby 350 Grand Jury members cast 300,000 votes in selecting the Shortlisted pieces and then the Executive Jury assembled together and selected all trophy winners in all media from the Shortlist using three criteria: Idea, Brand Relevance and Execution. The combined juries cast 400,000 votes in selecting the World's Best Advertising.

2011: NYF created the Executive Jury comprising 30 worldwide chief creative officers, who assembled together on one panel to judge all entries to select the winning work using the patented matrix judging system on iPads.
