Colors-Bangla-Logo-AW-1Colors Bangla will premiere its reality based musical show, 'Great Music Gurukul', on April 13, 2015. Produced by Frames production house, the show will air every Monday to Wednesday from 9 pm to 10 pm.

Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Javed Ali and Jeet Ganguly have been roped in to guide the 24 singers who will make it to the main rounds. The Top 24 will then be selected by the Mentors to represent their respective Gharanas. With elimination each week, the top 10 contestants will be then vying for public votes for the battle of the winner. The show has been directed by Ashim Sen, while Deep Chanda is the creative director.

Speaking on the launch of 'Great Music Gurukul', Sujay Kutty, Channel Head, Colors Bangla and Colors Odiya, said, “We are all set to embark on a new journey of providing our viewers with shows that resonate amongst the people of Bengal. A musical show that resonates with Bengali music lovers is an apt marker to flag off this journey. 'Great Music Gurukul' is sure to strike a chord amongst Bengali viewers of all ages.”

The launch of the show comes at a time when Viacom 18 extended its Colors branding to five regional channels, including Bangla.
