Beauty-Begins-With-Care

Global beauty brand Dove recently hosted an event to as part of its integrated brand campaign to reveal their latest experiment in beauty, which revolves around the theme 'Beauty begins with Care'. This revelatory experiment brought to light the age-old truth that beauty does not require elaborate rituals; that beauty, in fact, comes from the simplest acts of care.

Bringing the concept of holistic beauty to the forefront, Dove invited three professionals to sit on its panel of experts, which included dermatologist Aparna Santhanam, yoga guru Deepika Mehta and nutritionist Shonali Sabherwal, who brought alive the 360-degree approach to beauty from their respective areas of expertise by sharing with the audience, how they can achieve beautiful skin.

Commenting on the campaign, Vikramjeet Singh, Global Director, Dove, said, “Dove believes that every woman has a personal potential for beauty, which she can achieve with products that deliver superior care. Dove beauty bar contains one-fourth moisturising cream that nourishes skin from inside so you look and feel beautiful outside. To bring this to life, we conceived this simple idea of inviting women to a mystery beauty treatment that can help them and many others who will later see this experiment to reconsider daily cleansing as an act of beauty. Taking these women to an undisclosed location and giving them a mystery beauty treatment was our way of getting genuine reactions from all the protagonists as the only information they were given prior to their treatment was that it was for a beauty brand. It has always been Dove's endeavour to provide women with efficacious beauty products that make them glow and look and feel beautiful within the comfort of their homes and the TVC encapsulates that perfectly.”

The new brand campaign for Dove captures the experience of a few regular women, who are whisked away to an unrevealed location to partake in a mystery beauty treatment. These women are led into a spa-like setting, where they are treated to a mystery beauty treatment. When asked to guess the product used on them, they responded with spa-related products like creams, lotions, spa products and so on. They were astonished to find that the product used was Dove beauty bar.

On her role on the Dove panel of experts, dermatologist Aparna Santhanam said, “There are a lot of beauty brands that are available to consumers right now, but I identify strongly with how Dove has created a niche for itself amidst all the noise. I agreed to work as a consultant with Dove mainly because of its unique proposition of superior care forming the foundation of beauty and the fact that beauty actually begins in the shower.”
