CNN-IBN launches a 7-part documentary series ‘Kings of Cricket’ while IBN7 brings ‘Cup Katha’

As we inch closer to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, the excitement is also gradually building up. The most eagerly awaited quadrennial cricket carnival holds a lot of prominence for India as the cricket crazy nation gets ready to defend the most prestigious cup in the sport.

With the rising viewership of cricket in the nation and the world cup less than a month away, CNN-IBN & IBN7 are all set to present diverse and detailed programming on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

The CNN-IBN programming kicks off with ‘Kings of Cricket’, a 7 episode documentary series that will not only recapture the glory of all past World Cup wins, but also heighten the level of anticipation in Indian cricket fans who will hear from the biggest stalwarts of the game.

From the Calypso King Sir Viv Richards who inspired the Caribbean conquest of world cricket to Imran Khan who led his cornered tigers to triumph, the magical story of Kapil Dev engineering India’s first World Cup win to the mighty Aussie captains Allan Border, Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting bringing in the new world order, and an epic inspired by Tendulkar and brought to a fairytale culmination by Yuvraj, Kings of Cricket will re-live the glorious spectacle of all World Cups gone by.

IBN7’s Cricket World Cup programming kicks off with ‘Cup Katha’, a special show that will profile each edition of the cricket world cup and re-capture all the interesting stories and facts surrounding it.

Kings of Cricket will be telecast every Friday & Saturday at 7:30 PM & 11 PM on CNN-IBN while IBN7’s Cup Katha will be aired every Saturday at 7:30 PM.
