One of the most respected publication in the field of horology, Watch World, from the Chitralekha Group, hosted a successful fifth edition of the 'Watch World Awards' on September 26, at The Westin, Gurgaon, in the presence of luminary guests from a cross-section of society. The awards saw eclectic watch brands winning commendations across 10 product and six market categories. These top brands were adjudged by acclaimed jurists including Antoine Simonin, Neeraj Pandey, Raghavendra Rathore and Adhiraj Singh, who unanimously adjudged Rotonde de Cartier Astrocalendaire as the 'Watch of the Year 2014'.

The grand event that glistened in the presence of glitterati saw the coming together of leading watch brands and master watchmakers to create a larger-than-ever-before platform of the horology ecosphere. Hosted by Chitralekha's President and Publisher and creator of 'Watch World Awards', Mitrajit Bhattacharya, the evening saw jurists awarding commendations for two different categories – Marketing Awards and Product Awards.

The event saw attendance by various timekeeping brands like Girard Perregaux, Bulgari, IWC, Corum, Breitling, Seiko, Graham, Baume & Mercier, Citizen, Hublot and Titan, amongst others, vying for the top awards. The winners in the marketing categories included Seiko for its Kolkata Knight Riders IPL campaign bagging the 'Best Marketing Campaign in Print' award and Titan Edge and Xylys picking up the award for 'Best Marketing Campaigns on Television'. Breitling New Bond Street, London picked the 'Best Boutique' award, while Hublot FIFA 2014 and IWC Mercedes AMG Petronas partnership was adjudicated as the 'Best Integrated Marketing Campaign'.

In the product category, Rotonde de Cartier Astrocalendaire and Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement L.M. won the award for the 'Best Complicated Watch', and the Corum Admiral's Cup AC One 45 Tides won the 'Sports Watch of the Year' award. Baume & Mercier The Clifton Retrograde Date Watch was adjudged the 'Watch with Best Design', Bulgari Octo Tourbillon Finissimo won the 'Best Concept Watch of the Year' award and IWC Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month was adjudged the 'Best Limited Edition Watch of the Year'.

At the event, the 'Jewellery Watch of the Year' award went to Bulgari Diva, and the 'Best Fashion Watch' to Hublot Big Bang Pop Art. The 'Watch with Most Innovative Material' was awarded to Graham Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon, the 'Watch with Highest Utility' award was presented to Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100; while Corum Golden Bridge Dragon bagged the 'Watch with Artistic Excellence' award. Also, Michel Parmigiani was honoured with a special award for his contribution to the watch industry.

An exclusive appreciation of the highest standards of horology, the fifth edition of the 'Watch World Awards' was celebrated in the presence of the glitterati and the crème-de-la-crème of society, including Bollywood Director Kabir Khan, actors Mugdha Godse and Shriya Saran, Tibor Kovacs from Embassy of Hungary, Ashish Kapur, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Yo! China, Dimsum Bros. & The Wine Company, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, The Royal Prince of Mewar/Udaipur and Executive Director of HRH Group, Andre Sanra – Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Benin, Diana Alipova - India Representative at Russia Beyond the Headlines, Sandeep Jajodia, Chairman & Managing Director, Monnet Group, Timur and Assel Nogaibayev, from the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, amongst others. Also present at the event were who's who of politics, along with industrialists, bureaucrats, lawyers and members from the corporate world and an enviable line-up of page three celebrities.

Commemorating accurate engineering, glitz and glamour, the evening also featured an unplugged musical performance by Jonita Gandhi, which added a soulful sparkle to the event.
