ZEE & Star announce individual distribution teams

MediaPro has also decided not to renew its distribution deal with NDTV, MCCS and MGM Programming Service India

BestMediaInfo Bureau | Mumbai | May 29, 2014

mediaproThe joint venture partners of MediaPro Enterprises India (MediaPro), ZEE and Star India, have set up their independent affiliate sales teams for their respective channels. They had already announced the split of the three-year distribution venture in order to implement the mandate of the new Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) regulations which disallow bundling of multi-broadcaster channels/bouquets.

MediaPro has also decided to not renew its distribution deal with NDTV with effect from April 1, 2014. Similarly, they have also terminated their distribution alliance with Media Content & Communication Services (MCCS) and MGM Programming Service India (MGM) with effect from April 16, 2014.

Consequently, NDTV (NDTV India, NDTV 24x7, NDTV Good Times & NDTV Profit), MGM (MGM) and MCCS (ABP News, ABP Majha & ABP Ananda) will distribute their respective channels through their own independent affiliate teams.
