Disney India yesterday announced a renewed strategic focus within its bouquet of offerings in the television business, in keeping with its long-term strategy of building a set of formidable brands here. Riding on the back of the huge success of its premiere youth offering Bindass, the network plans to reimagine its Bollywood focused channel UTV Stars to super-serve the entertainment needs of viewers in the youth genre.

UTV Stars will continue in its present avatar till September this year, offering popular music and feature based programming to audiences. In October, the company will unveil a refreshed channel offering, with a new brand proposition complemented with fresh packaging, new content and a new brand name, that further fortifies the Bindass brand.

“Disney India is committed to serving audiences with differentiated multi-brand offerings in the Television space. To that end, we are refreshing our product offerings in the Youth genre, using brand bindass to create a new proposition for UTV Stars that is complementary to the bindass brand, and centered around themes and passions that drive Young India,” said Vijay Subramaniam, VP - Content & Communication, Media Networks, Disney India.
