goafest-2014This year the Abby Awards at Goafest has added new verticals as well as sub-categories to become a complete communications award that it has always aimed to be.

Brand Activation and Promotion, a major vertical in international festivals, is now a part of Abby Awards for the first time. Projects that can be entered are any activities that are designed to create immediate activation due to an offer for the sales or attitudinal change of a product or service.

Creative agencies responsible for brand activation, media agencies that may have pioneered the idea, brand activation companies, event management companies or even clients who have led the initiative can enter.

Last year Abby Awards had introduced Branded Content & Entertainment as a new vertical with 8 sub-categories. This category attracts those projects which involve natural integration into original content by a brand.

Branded content integration goes beyond television and includes web, radio, print, music, user generated video, social, blogs, experiential events, etc. So, this year more sub-categories have been added to bring this vertical on a par with international festivals.

Creative agencies who may have partnered with content producers or publishers, media agencies, content producers who have produced the content, broadcasters who may have pioneered the concept, publishers who have worked closely with creative or media companies or even clients who may have led the initiative can enter.

Work that is entered should reflect an intelligent extension of a brand's theme or position into the content, projects that enhance a brand's position by integrating with content in different media or events, or use of innovation in the integration.

This year the Abby Award has also added the Public Relations vertical in line with major international festivals. Public Relations is the creative use of reputation and image management by the creation of trust between individuals, businesses or organizations and their audiences.

Apart from cases involving successful image and reputation management of enterprises which have been created or preserved, the Public Relations vertical will also cover sub-categories in crisis communication and damage control. Also covered are PR in live events , product launches, trade shows, awards ceremonies etc.

Creative agencies handling the PR of a client, media and PR companies, and clients who have led the PR initiative can send in entries.
