DAS deadline pushed back by 2 years

The new deadlines for Phase 3 and Phase 4 are December 31, 2015 and December 31, 2016, respectively

The deadline for complete digitisation has been pushed by as long as two years, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Phase 3 implementation of digital addressable system (DAS), which was supposed to complete this month, has got a new deadline of December 31, 2015.

Similarly, the government has announced December 31, 2016 as the new deadline for Phase 4 of DAS implementation which was December 31, 2014, earlier.

The ministry has said that it was necessary to extend the deadlines in public interest and that the ministry was satisfied with the reasons.
