MSM set to launch 'Sony Pal' on Sept 1

The upcoming GEC from Multi Screen Media is likely to have a programming mix of women-centric shows

sony-palSony Pal, the upcoming General Entertainment Channel (GEC) from Multi Screen Media, is slated to go on air from September 1, 2014. However, the channel is yet to officially release any details.

Creative Eye, Sphere Origin and Balaji Telefilms are some of the production houses which will have their shows on the channel. The channel is also learnt to be in discussion with actress Tisca Chopra for a talk show.

The channel is likely to have a programming mix of women-centric shows backed by progressive storytelling highlighting the struggles and victories of women in today's world.

Sony Pal will have Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla as the face of the channel, according to informed sources. Over the past few weeks the names of actresses Raveena Tandon and Lara Dutta have been doing the rounds as the likely face of the new channel.

MSM already has two GECs - Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV.
