Hindi general entertainment channels continued to be restrained post IPL and dropped by a further 58 Gross TVMs. Delhi and UP viewership continued to suffer for the third week in succession because of power cuts. The two markets witnessed decline of 4% and 11% respectively across genres. Amidst all this, Colors' weekend offering performed better on people meters and brought the channel back at No. 3 position. However, there was little significant change in viewership pattern of weekday programming across channels.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 24 of TAM 2014 (June 8 – June 14) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to lead with seven shows in the top 10 weekday shows followed by Zee TV with two shows and SAB TV with one show.

Colors dominance in weekend programming grew this week with 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' claiming the top slot followed by 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' at No. 2. 'Mission Sapne' episode with Salman Khan too contributed in channel's growth by fetching a viewership of 2.8 TVM.

SAB TV's new show 'Badi Door Se Aaye' opened at an average viewership of 3.1 TVM in its first week.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to be at the top with an average viewership of 9.4 TVM (last week 9.6 TVM).

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV held No.2 position with an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).

At No. 3, Star Plus' Saathiya dropped to 6.9 TVM (last week 7.7).

Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, jumped two positions to No. 4 this week. The show fetched an average viewership of 6.5 TVM this week (last week 6 TVM).

 

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus slipped one position to No. 5. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).

 

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai slipped one position to No. 6. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma retained No. 7 position with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).

 

Veera on Star Plus held No. 8 position with an average viewership of 5.5 TVM (last week 5.8 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus was at No. 9. The show grew to 5.3 TVM (last week 4.7).

 

Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se on Zee TV remained in the top-10 club with an average viewership of 4.3 TVM this week (last week 4.3 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors returned to the top of weekend programming in Week 24. The show fetched an average viewership of 5.9 TVM (last week 4.4).

Colors' celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa grew further in its second week and fetched an average of 5.6 TVM (last week 5.3).

Sony's crime series, CID, fetched 3.4 TVM against last week's 3.7 TVM.

 

Dance India Dance L'il Masters Season 3 on Zee TV recorded an average viewership of 3.1 TVM (last week 3.2 TVM).

Life OK's Shapath grew to 2.9 TVM (last week 2.7).

Riding on the episode with Salman Khan, Colors' Mission Sapne grew to 2.8 TVM from 1.5 TVM in last week.

Sony's Entertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega fetched an average viewership of 2.2 TVM (last week 2.4).

Sony's second crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 2.2 TVM (last week 2.4).

Hatim on Life OK recorded 2 TVM (last week 1.9).

Fear Files on Zee TV fetched 1.7 TVM this week (last week 1.6).
