Week 6 was historic in the Hindi general entertainment space with Star Plus recording the highest weekly TVMs in Indian television history by any channel with 728 TVMs. Last record was created by Star Sports which had fetched 645 million gross TVM in Cricket World Cup finale week. The channel took a huge leap on the back of extended weekday programming and the Star Guild Awards. The Monday to Saturday move to fiction worked exceptionally well with most shows growing their ratings while Star Guild Awards fetched 8.1 TVM.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 6 of TAM 2014 (February 2 – February 8) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus is not only led the pack with a huge margin but the channel is the leader in every slot in weekday primetime barring 8 PM. Zee TV held second position followed by Colors at No. 3, Life OK at No. 4, SAB TV at No. 5 and Sony at No. 6.

Star Plus took a giant leap by adding 101 million TVT which is a record jump for any GEC in a week. The channel clocked a record viewership of 728 million. The jump was propelled by the channel's move to six-day weekday programming and Star Guild Awards. With GTVM of 728 million, the channel had a relative share of 28.72% (last week 627 million TVT with 24.63% relative share).

Zee TV held the No. 2 position firmly and grew to 495 GTVM in week 6. It had a relative share of 19.53% (last week 468million with 18.38% relative share).

Colors dropped to GVTM of 424 million with a relative share of 16.73% (last week 447million TVT with 17.56% relative share).

Life OK too witnessed a drop in its viewership and recorded a Gross TVT of 344 million against last week's 387 million. The relative share of the channel was 13.57% in Week 6 of TAM 2014 against 15.20% in the previous week.

SAB TV fetched 292 million TVT with 11.52% relative share (last week 319 million TVT and12.53% relative share).

Sony dropped by 46 million GVTM this week. The channel recorded Gross TVM of 252 million. It had a relative share of 9.94% relative share (last week 298 million TVTs with 11.70% of relative share).
