Close on the heels of the departure of political editor, Hartosh Singh Bal, from Open magazine, its Editor-in-Chief, Manu Joseph, has put in his papers. The development has been confirmed by highly placed sources in the organisation. However, the magazine is yet to find a replacement for Joseph who will continue to be the Editor till then.

Joseph started his career as a staff writer at Society magazine at the age of 20. After stints with Outlook, The Economic Times and The Times of India, he took over as Editor-in-Chief from Sandipan Deb in 2010.

Joseph's first novel, 'Serious Men', was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Award in 2010, and won The Hindu Best Fiction award the same year.

Open magazine is a weekly English language magazine featuring current affairs, and is the flagship brand of Open Media Network, the media venture of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. It was launched in April 2009, and was one of the first to cover the Radia tapes controversy involving prominent Indian journalists.
