publive-imageThree new show launches, special programming on Independence Day and significant changes in the pecking order of the top 10 weekday shows. Certainly, Week 33 of TAM 2013 was a high-action week for Hindi general entertainment channels.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 33 (August 11 - August 17) for the CS 4+, HSM markets, riding on a successful opening for its new fiction offering which entered the top 10 club in its opening week, Zee TV now sits with Star Plus with 4 slots each among the top 10 weekday shows. Colors and SAB TV have one show each.

Among new weekday shows, Zee TV's Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se averaged 5,341 TVT in its first week and grabbed a comfortable position in the top 10. Jee Le Zara on Sony opened with 2,620 TVT on Independence Day. The new weekend show on Star Plus, Junior Master Chef, opened at 4,277 TVT on Saturday, August 17.

Among I-Day special programming line-up, Sony garnered 11,197 TVTs through three movies wherein Aashiqui 2 alone garnered 8096 TVTs from two telecasts. The first telecast of Aashiqui 2 at 12.30 PM garnered 5,238 TVTs while it fetched 2858 TVTs at 6.30 PM. The double-premiere of Policegiri on Colors rated 3,746 TVT at 12 noon and 2,585 TVT at 4 PM. The live fundraiser event 'Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand' on Star Plus accrued 1,104 TVTs across 7 hours of telecast on Independence Day.

Jashan-E-Eid on Colors fetched 3,074 TVT.

'Comedy Night with Kapil' on Colors continued to rule weekend programming. DID Super Moms on Zee TV and Jhalak Dikhhla Ja on Colors jumped to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVT in 000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus surged further to 11,166 TVTs to extend its lead as the No.1 show on GECs in Week 33 (last week 10,356).

Zee TV's Qubool Hai strengthened its position at No. 2 with an average TVT of 7,435 (last week 7, 188).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed two positions to No. 3 with 7,284 TVT. The show had an average TVT of 6,542 last week.

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped one position again this week and fared at No. 4 with an average TVT of 7,070 against last week's 7,032.

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus too grew in Week 33 and climbed one position to No. 5 recording an average TVT of 6,503 (last week 6,233).

Colors' Balika Vadhu dropped for the third week in a row slipping two positions to No. 6. Its average TVT was recorded at 6,276 against last week's 6,644.

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV held No. 7 position firmly for the second consecutive week after entering the top 10 club last week. The show averaged at 6,011 (last week 5,547).

Star Plus' Saathiya also added more eyeballs this week and held No. 8 position. The show garnered an average TVT of 5,949 (last week 5,525).

Zee TV's latest fiction offering Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se had a grand opening and entered the top 10 club at No. 9 in its opening week. The show averaged at 5,341 TVT.

Pavitra Rishta was the fourth show from Zee TV among the top 10. At No. 10, the show fetched an average TVT of 4,959 (last week 5,151).

 

Weekend toppers

Colors' Comedy Night with Kapil continued to rule the weekend programming. The show averaged at 6,847 TVT (last week 6,831).

DID Super Moms on Zee TV witnessed surge in viewership and jumped to No. 2 position. The show averaged at 5,696 TVT (last week 4,950).

Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Ja too improved its ratings this week garnering an average TVT of 5,436 in (last week 4,901).

Sony's crime show, CID, fetched an average TVT of 5,210 (last week 5,177).

Sony's Indian Idol Junior recorded an average TVT of 4,404 (last week 4,476).

Star Plus' new weekend show, Junior Master Chef opened at 4277 TVT on Saturday, August 17.

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 3,815 TVT this week (last week 3,859).

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded an average TVT of 3,801 (last week 3,514).

Life OK's weekend offering, Shapath, continued to grow in the second consecutive week. The show fetched an average TVT of 3,352 against last week's 3,088.

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony dropped further to 2,482 TVT (last week 2,816).

Sony's crime show, Adalat, recorded 2,316 TVT (last week 2,117).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 1,881 TVT (last week 1, 617).
