publive-imageBBH India is the only agency from India to win a Gold at the APPIES 2013 Asia Pacific Marketing Congress held in Singapore. It won the award for its Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil's 'Recommended by those who care about you' campaign for Marico India. Yousuf Rangoonwala, the strategic planner on the account, also won a Best Presenter Award for the second year in a row.

BBH had won a Silver for the same brand last year at the APPIES, making Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic the only brand in Asia to win consecutively at the APPIES in 2012 and 2013.

The APPIES is an annual festival showcasing and awarding the best marketing strategies, ideas and campaigns from across Asia. Organised by the Institute of Advertising Singapore, the incisive APPIES jury comprising top marketing professionals from across the APAC region hears out 100 live presentations and then recognises 15 most brilliant and inspirational ideas in marketing communications across Asia. Only ten outstanding campaigns that have a unique marketing success story go on to ultimately win the APPIES Gold Medals and five others win Silver Medals.

This year APPIES saw 70 advertising and marketing professionals from 16 APAC countries make live presentations across six categories.

Marico India was also awarded a Silver this year for its Parachute Advansed Body Lotion campaign making it the only Indian company to win at the APPIES 2013.

Rangoonwala, Strategy Director, BBH India, said, “A win at the APPIES is special because you only get 10 minutes to convince the jury. Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic was awarded for its unique strategy of one-to-one recommendations. We got hair fall sufferers to recommend the brand to those they cared about, making their relationship the source of the brand's efficacy.”

Jury members commented that the campaign was awarded for its consistency in the platform of recommendations making it a long-term strategy. They also felt that the brand's use of mobile in the campaign was unique and effective.

Sushrut Pant, Head of Marketing, Personal and Nature Care, Marico India, commented, “We are elated as this is the 3rd consecutive Gold at the Appies for Marico. The Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic win is the result of a combination of a sharp consumer insight, differentiated strategy and excellence in execution. It proves that consistency in brand proposition kept fresh through new creative ideas year after year delivers results.”

Sanjay Sharma, Head of Strategy, BBH India, said, “We are absolutely delighted at this victory. We put great emphasis on building strong, lasting strategic territories that become the source of great creative, market moving work for our brands. The work on Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic is a true reflection of this approach.”

BBH is now a creative network wholly owned by the Publicis Groupe. BBH India was founded in 2009 and since then has grown very rapidly to a staff strength of 70 people and manages a portfolio of diverse clients and brands that include Unilever, Marico, Diageo, Skoda, Red Bull, Acer, Movies Now and World Gold Council, amongst many others.
