Sandeep Dahiya, Sr. Vice President – Consumer Products & Communications, Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. has decided to move on. Dahiya has been with the Group for 8 years and has worked in multiple-functions across the group – consumer products, communications and corporate affairs.

According to industry sources, Sandeep Dahiya is headed to Times Group in a Business Head role in the brand vertical. Despite repeated attempts, Dahiya could not be contacted.

Announcing Dahiya's departure, Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO - Viacom18 Media Networks, said, "Over the last many years Sandeep has passionately led Viacom18's consumer products' business and taken it to a respectable position. He's laid a strong foundation in creating eco-systems for our brands outside their core business and we're committed to building on this foundation even further.” He further added, “As he steps out, I wish Sandeep all the very best for his future endeavors.”

Commenting on the development, Dahiya added, "The 8 year-phase at Viacom18 has been the most fulfilling and exciting phase of my professional career and I've tremendously enjoyed working on some of the most well-known brands/properties - be it Colors, MTV, Nickelodeon, Vh1 and Comedy Central.” He further added, “I've been privileged to have worked with some of the brightest minds here, and would like to thank them for making my journey, a memorable one.”

Under Dahiya's entrepreneurial-style leadership, Viacom18's consumer products business has grown many-folds, to today span across more than 50 categories, with over 60 licensees and a retail presence that spans across India. He has not only strengthened the business in conventional spaces in the kids and youth space, but also launched quite a few unconventional categories in the youth space. The most recent launch in this space has been Viacom's globally-hit franchise 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' in India. Viacom18 consumer products today comprises a portfolio of strong brands and properties, across demographics – Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Ninja Hattori, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, MTV, Roadies, Southpark, Vh1 and Comedy Central, amongst others.

Dahiya also headed Communications for Viacom18, across all its businesses.
