93.5 Red FM will be celebrating the spirit of humanity this month by launching ‘Bade Dilwale’ awards to recognise individuals who have worked selflessly for the welfare of the under-privileged and helped in empowering them. These individuals have unknowingly treaded on the path created by legends such as Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Dr Verghese Kurein.
These unsung heroes have left their comfort zone for the betterment of others’ lives. They are ordinary people with extraordinary will and courage, who function diligently, away from any limelight.
The radio station, with the help of a research agency, will nominate three people in areas including Literature, Music, Sports, Education, Science & Research, Business, Environment, Agriculture and Social Work. The winner for each category will be selected on the basis of the agency’s analysis and the views of the jury. However, the winner will be largely determined on the basis of listeners’ votes.
This is a 19-city initiative in the Hindi-speaking markets. The activity will be carried out for a period of five weeks, which started in the first week of February and Red FM has been getting a humungous amount of response of stories that have gone unnoticed. At the end of the campaign, a felicitation ceremony will be held in each of the cities, so that all such heroes are appreciated with a lifetime achievement award.
Nisha Narayanan, Senior VP – Programming & Projects, Red FM, said, “Bade Dilwale is an initiative to honour the real heroes of every city/state. Their efforts, achievements and sacrifices are greater than any awards, but it is our way of thanking them and appreciating their work. By recognizing these unsung heroes, we salute them as well as aim at inspiring all our listeners.”
