Robert Frye appointed to NYF World's Best TV & Films Grand Jury
As advisory board member, Frye's creative vision and vast broadcast industry expertise will be an asset to the competition as it continues to address the needs of the worldwide television and film industry

New York Festivals World's Best TV & Films has announced the appointment of Robert E Frye, Emmy award-winning producer and director, to the NYF TV & Film Awards Advisory Board and Grand Jury. As advisory board member, Frye's creative vision and vast broadcast industry expertise will be an asset to the competition as it continues to address the needs of the worldwide television and film industry.
“New York Festivals Television & Film Awards has grown through the years and demonstrated its international commitment by recognising the importance of bringing together a dynamic community of peer judges who identify with the true nature and spirit of the work created in the television and film industry today,” commented Frye. “New York Festivals offers the opportunity for TV programming and films to seen in a global context and I am proud to be a member of this outstanding jury and advisory board.”
With four decades of experience in documentaries and network news programmes, Frye has been an independent documentary producer and director since 1988. Since that time he has completed more than 20 documentaries. Previously, during his 14-year career at ABC News, he was the founding executive producer of 'ABC World News Tonight' with Peter Jennings, the executive producer of 'Good Morning America' and the creator of 'World News This Morning'.
Frye was producer of the ABC Evening News while at ABC News in Washington DC with Barbara Walters and Harry Reasoner from 1976 to 1978 prior to his being assigned to the London bureau. As Washington Bureau Chief, he helped establish a news syndication service Television News Inc (TVN) which was a forerunner of CNN. The bureau was responsible for breaking stories related to Watergate, the resignation of Vice President Spiro, and the resignation of Richard Nixon.
All Entries in the 2014 International TV & Film competition will be judged online and screened by the Grand Jury members who are award-winning producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe. Winning entries will be showcased on the NYF TV & Film Awards website.
