BestMediaInfo Bureau | Mumbai | October 28, 2013
English daily dna has unveiled a reader engagement programme – Hunt for the Next Bestseller. The initiative is being partnered by one of India's leading publishing houses, Hachette India
A 360-degree marketing campaign will make extensive use of print, digital and on-ground activations in colleges to invite budding writers. A power-packed jury comprising bestselling authors like Krishna Udayasankar, Tuhin A Sinha and Swati Kaushal will judge the shortlisted entries and Hachette India will publish the winning 'bestseller'.
Sorbojeet Chatterjee, Sr. Vice-President – Marketing, dna, said, “Everyone has a story to tell and dna is providing a perfect platform to share it with the world. This is truly a first of its kind initiative and part of the overall focus to build a strong bond with diverse communities and special interest groups.”
Poulomi Chatterjee, Managing Editor, Hachette India, said, “Hachette India is delighted to be associating with dna on this search for the next bestseller. The Hachette Group, worldwide, has always been at the forefront of commercial and crossover publishing across genres – from JK Rowling through Nicholas Sparks, Stephen King, Robert Ludlum, Gillian Flyn, Jeffrey Deaver, Jodi Picoult, Stephenie Meyer, Steve Martini, Penny Vincenzi to John Grisham. We're extremely excited about discovering new, talented, homegrown writers through this contest.”
