Week 36 of TAM 2013 witnessed the return of KBC that topped weekend programming and boosted Sony along with the grand finale of Indian Idol

Week 36 of TAM 2013 witnessed the return of the new season of KBC on Sony Entertainment Television that opened at the top of weekend programming but couldn't match the ratings of the previous year. However, the game show along with the grand finale of Indian Idol Junior helped the channel acquire a comfortable No. 4 position. Among other weekend shows, Comedy Night with Kapil and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Colors recorded significant growth.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 36 (September 1 – September 7) for the CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus and Zee TV held four slots each among the top 10 weekday shows. Both the channels were strong in weekday programming. Colors and SAB TV got one show each in the top 10 shows.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVT in 000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to lead the weekend programming chart with 9,765 TVT in Week 36 (last week 10,175).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed one position to No. 2 with 7,261 TVT. The show had an average TVT of 7,024 last week.

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV continued growing week by week and registered 7,259 TVTs in week 36 (last week 6,824).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus also registered growth in its viewership and climbed one position to No. 4. The show garnered an average TVT of 6,840 (last week 6,515).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped three positions to No. 5 with an average TVT of 6,751 against last week's 7,094.

Zee TV's Qubool Hai held its No. 6 position with an average TVT of 6,380 (last week 6,492).

Star Plus' Saathiya climbed one position to No. 7. The show garnered an average TVT of 6,079 (last week 6,127).

Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se on Zee TV fared at No. 8. The show recorded an average TVT of 5,946 (last week 5,188).

Colors' Balika Vadhu dropped further to No. 9 position with 5,912 TVTs (last week 6,127).

Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke entered the top 10 club again with average TVT of 5,362 in Week 36 (last week 4,785).

 

Weekend toppers

Like other seasons in the past, the charisma of Amitabh Bachchan has again helped KBC get a decent opening in the new season. The show topped the weekend chart with 8,950 TVT on Friday, September 6, 2013 followed by 8,460 TVT on Saturday.

Comedy Night with Kapil strengthened its position further. The show averaged at 7,983 TVT (last week 7,072).

Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Ja too grew in its semi-final week. The show garnered an average TVT of 7,025 in Week 36 (last week 5,855).

The grand finale of Indian Idol Junior on Sony garnered 6,290 TVT (last week 4,550).

Sony's crime show, CID, fetched an average TVT of 5,941 (last week 4,758).

DID Super Moms on Zee TV averaged at 3,635 TVT (last week 4,572).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 3,418 TVT this week (last week 4,783).

Crime Patrol was closely followed by Life OK's weekend offering, Shapath, which fetched an average TVT of 3,339 against last week's 2,455.

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded an average TVT of 2,779 (last week 3,343).

Sony's crime show, Adalat, recorded 2,452 TVT (last week 2,511).

Star Plus' Junior Master Chef averaged at 2,370 TVT (last week 2,671).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 2,095 TVT (last week 2,265).
