publive-imageAfter the high-action Independence Day week, Week 34 of TAM 2013 saw all Hindi general entertainment channels except SAB TV losing viewership. However, Week 34 did not witness any big change in the viewership of top weekday and weekend shows.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 34 (August 18 - August 24) for the CS 4+, HSM markets, while Star Plus retained its leadership with 4 shows among top 10 weekday shows, Zee TV lost a slot to Colors. Zee TV had three shows followed by Colors with two shows and SAB with one show.

Colors strengthened its leadership in weekend programming with Comedy Night with Kapil and Jhalak Dikhhla Ja at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. DID Super Moms on Zee TV followed closely at No. 3.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVT in 000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to top the chart despite a drop in its viewership. The show averaged at 9,483 TVTs in Week 34 (last week 11,166).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus grew one position to No. 2 with 7,124 TVT. The show had an average TVT of 7,284 last week.

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma also climbed one position to No. 3 with an average TVT of 7,048 against last week's 7,070.

Zee TV's Qubool Hai slipped two positions to No. 4 with an average TVT of 6,618 (last week 7,435).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus held its No. 5 position recording an average TVT of 6,482 (last week 6,503).

Colors' Balika Vadhu stayed out at No. 6. Its average TVT was recorded at 6,294 against last week's 6,276.

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV held No. 7 position firmly for the third consecutive week. The show averaged at 5,896 (last week 6,011).

Star Plus' Saathiya held No. 8 position. The show garnered an average TVT of 5,374 (last week 5,949).

Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta went up one position to No. 9 this week. The show averaged at 4,990 TVT (last week 4,959).

Uttaran on Colors crept into the top 10 club with an average TVT of 4,736 (last week 4,839).

 

Weekend toppers

Colors' Comedy Night with Kapil continues to add eyeballs every week and the show further strengthened its leadership this week. It averaged 6,988 TVT (last week 6,847).

Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Ja too improved its ratings this week and dislodged Zee TV's DID Super Moms from No. 2 position. The show garnered an average TVT of 6,205 in (last week 5,436).

DID Super Moms on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 3. The show averaged at 5,650 TVT (last week 5,696).

Sony's crime show, CID, fetched an average TVT of 5,061 (last week 5,210).

Sony's Indian Idol Junior recorded an average TVT of 4,340 (last week 4,404).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 3,500 TVT this week (last week 3,815).

Life OK's weekend offering, Shapath, remained strong and became the most watched show on the channel. The show fetched an average TVT of 3,330 against last week's 3,352.

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded an average TVT of 3,316 (last week 3,801).

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony recovered this week and fetched 3,071 TVT (last week 2,482).

Star Plus' new weekend show, Junior Master Chef, averaged at 2,804 TVT after a grand opening at 4277 TVT on Saturday, August 17.

Sony's crime show, Adalat, recorded 2,724 TVT (last week 2,316).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 1,905 TVT (last week 1,881).
