publive-imageWeek 33 of TAM 2013 which was Independence Day week was a high action week for Hindi general entertainment channels that saw three new show launches.

As per TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 33 (August 11 - August 17) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus retained its viewership and No. 1 position among Hindi general entertainment channels despite a slight drop in its relative share and Gross TVT. However, the channel's weekdays shows performed well. Colors gained significantly on the back of weekend programming and strengthened its position at No. 2 followed by Zee TV at No. 3.

Sony's viewership jumped this week on the back of line-up of movies on Independence Day and the channel made a comeback at No. 4 position. Life OK was at No. 5 followed by SAB TV at No. 6 and Sahara One at No. 7.

Among the new show launches, Junior Master Chef on Star Plus opened at 4277 TVT on Saturday, August 17. Zee TV's Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se averaged at 5341 TVT in its first week. Jee Le Zara on Sony opened with 2620 TVT on Independence Day.

Among I-Day special programming line-up, Sony earned 11197 TVTs through 3 movies wherein Aashiqui 2 alone garnered 8096 TVTs from two telecasts. The first telecast of Aashiqui 2 at 12.30 pm garnered 5238 TVTs while it fetched 2858 TVTs at 6.30 pm. Fundraiser 'Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand' on Star Plus accrued 1104 TVTs across 7 hours of telecast on Independence Day.

Star Plus retained its leadership position in Week 33 with Gross TVT of 490 million and relative share of 20.91% (last week 506 million with 21.85% relative share).

Growing by19 million TVTs, Colors strengthened its position at No. 2 and recorded Gross TVT of 456 million with relative share of 19.49% (last week 438 million with 18.92% relative share).

Zee TV recorded Gross TVT of 416 million and 17.74% of relative share. The channel had 424 million TVT with relative share of 18.33% last week.

A jump of 49 million in Gross TVT in Week 33 pushed Sony to No. 4 position. The channel recorded 349 million TVT and 14.92% relative share (last week 301 million TVT with 12.99% of relative share).

Life OK recorded Gross TVT of 303 million against last week's 316 million. Life OK's relative share was recorded at 12.96% in Week 33 against 13.64% in Week 31.

SAB TV held No. 6 position with 293 million Gross TVT and 12.53% relative share (last week 298 million TVT and 12.89% relative share).

Sahara One's viewership stood at 34 million TVT with 1.47% relative share (last week 32 million TVT and 1.38% relative share).
