publive-imageWith the end of season 6 of IPL, Week 22 of TAM 2013 saw major non-fiction and fiction show launches across GECs. Sony launched its magnum opus 'Maharana Pratap' on the day after the IPL final; on Saturday, June 1, Zee TV launched 'DID Super Moms'; Colors launched celebrity dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'; and Sony launched 'Indian Idol Junior'.

DID Super Moms on Zee TV opened at 3 TVR over 90 minutes. The premiere night of Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa scored 2.4 TVR over two and a half hours. Sony's Indian Idol Junior opened at 1.8 TVR. Maharana Pratap, which premiered on May 27 on Sony, averaged at 1.5 TVR over the week.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 22 (May 26 - June 1) for the CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus emerged strongest on the back of sharp growth in its fiction shows by 11 GRPs. The channel dominated the weekday programming with 5 shows in top 10 list. It also captured the top 3 positions in the third consecutive week.

Colors was reduced to three shows in the top 10 while Zee TV and SAB TV continued with 1 show each. Life OK's Mahadev made an entry to the top 10 club.

Weekday toppers

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus strengthened its leadership, fetching an average of 4.1 TVR (last week 3.7).

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai climbed one position to No. 2, averaging 3.7 TVR this week (last week 2.8).

Third position was also held by Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai. It fetched an average rating of 3.6 TVR (last week 2.9).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma stayed put at No. 4 with an average TVR of 3.1 against last week's 2.8 TVR.

Zee TV's Qubool Hai climbed three positions to No. 5. The show averaged at 3.0 TVR (last week 2.5).

Colors' Balika Vadhu slipped one position to No. 6 despite improved ratings. The show averaged at 2.8 TVR this week (last week 2.6).

Star Plus' Veera entered the top-10 club with a sharp growth in its viewership. At No. 7, the show averaged at 2.6 TVR (last week 2.1).

Madhubala on Colors climbed one position to No. 8 with an average of 2.6 TVR (last week 2.3).

Colors' Uttaran slipped three positions this week to No. 9 with an average of 2.5 TVR (last week 2.6)

Mahadev on Life OK and Saathiya on Star Plus shared 10th position with an average of 2.4 TVR each.

Weekend toppers

In a week of three big-ticket weekend reality shows, Zee TV won the race with DID Super Moms topping the chart. The show garnered 3.0 TVR over 90 minutes.

At No. 2, Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Ja scored 2.4 TVR over 2.5 hours.

Sony's crime show, CID, fetched an average TVR of 2.0 (last week 1.8).

Sony's Indian Idol Junior fared at No. 4 with 1.8 TVR for its launch episode.

Star Plus dancing reality show India's Dancing Superstar garnered 1.7 TVR (last week 2.2).

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded an average TVR of 1.5 (last week1.3).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 1.4 TVR this week (last week 1.8).

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 1.3 TVR (last week 1.4).

Adalat on Sony recorded 0.8 TVR (last week 0.9).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 0.8 TVR (last week 0.9).
