Cannes Lions 2013: DDB Mudra wins a Bronze Lion in Direct

The ‘Help Desk’ campaign done by the agency for Aarambh wins only medal for India in Direct category. There were 3 shortlists from India

DDB Mudra Group Mumbai picked the Bronze Lion in the Direct category at the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the largest global awards and celebration of creative advertising and communications. The only medal for India in Direct was won by ‘Help Desk’ campaign done by the agency for Aarambh under Best Low Budget Campaign category.

The other 2 shortlists from India in Direct category could not turn into medals. The ‘Reflection of Music – Table Mat’ campaign done by Leo Burnett for Coke Studio was shortlisted in Ambient Media sub-category while The ‘Reflection of Music – Installation’ campaign was shortlisted in Publication and Media sub-category.

Last year, India had secured 8 shortlists and won a Bronze Lion in Direct category.

This year, a total of 61 medals were given among 247 shortlists in Direct category which attracted 2578 entries from 67 countries – an increase of +9% compared to last year.

The Direct Lions jury was headed by Mark Tutssel, Worldwide Chief Creative, Leo Burnett while Juju Basu, Senior Vice President & Executive Creative Director, Contract Advertising was representing the jury from India.
