Analyzing the city's state of affairs, the show airs on Friday, May 3 at 8 PM

May 2, 2013:

publive-imageAs Karnataka witnesses tough multi-party competition and hectic campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections, CNN-IBN, in partnership with Deccan Herald, brings to you 'Eye on Bengaluru', a show that analyses key issues that the city faces today.

As a precursor, there will be stories in the news wheel capturing different voices from the city - from the old intelligentsia of IISC, IIM and the old Bengaluru charm, how the pub going population sees the city to the involvement of the modern Bangalorian in electoral politics. Issues related to the Bengaluru Political Action Committee, the city's garbage problem, the Namma Metro to name a few, will be examined while linking them to the political scenario and the upcoming Assembly elections.

This will culminate in a special one-hour 'Eye on Bengaluru' debate hosted by Sagarika Ghose, on what Bengaluru expects from its politicians. Other panelists of the show will include some of the eminent citizens of the city like Dr. Ramachandra Guha, Srivatsa Krishna, Subramaniam Vincent, Ramesh Ramanathan and Vani Ganapathy.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat, said, “This special show is an attempt to sense the mood of the public in Bengaluru and highlight the issues that are likely to play a significant role in influencing the upcoming elections. We are pleased to partner with Deccan Herald in this endeavour."

K N Tilak Kumar, Joint Managing Director and Editor, Deccan Herald, said, “Through this special show, we wish to give our readers an insight into the current political and social scenario in Bengaluru. We are glad to partner with CNN-IBN in conducting this special show.”
