Questions, general knowledge and all things curious will take a wacky turn as National Geographic Channel gets set to launch its unique new quiz show, Indian Quiz League, with the charming and witty Gaurav Kapoor. Starting February 18, 2013, the show airs Monday-Friday at 8 PM on National Geographic Channel.

Premiering on the channel this month, Indian Quiz League (IQL) will put the self-proclaimed smarties to the ultimate task of proving their intelligence against the average India. A unique game show based on the knowledge pillar of National Geographic, IQL will test contestants in relation to how the nation fares in answering them.

National Geographic Channel through its smart innovative entertainment has constantly endeavoured to show its viewers a new way to look at the world. With IQL, Nat Geo will challenge individuals to showcase their intelligence not only against their contenders, but also the collective nation.

Speaking on the launch of the new show, Debarpita Banerjee, VP – Marketing, National Geographic and Fox International Channels, said, “The novelty of Nat Geo's IQL is that it will be a battle of wits between an individual contestant and an entire nation. We are very excited about IQL because this unique quiz show will challenge our overestimated perceptions of self-intelligence.”

Gaurav Kapoor's quick wit and smooth charms is all set to add to the cool quotient of Nat Geo IQL. The host of the show is reputed for cheeky talk and a true love of creativity. His tryst with radio, video jockeying, films and television has been the stuff of legends. Beginning his career with radio, he soon moved to become one of the most recognized VJs on TV. Films and television beckoned with Kapoor being a part of some prestigious television shows.

Excited about his association with National Geographic, Kapoor said, “I am extremely thrilled and am looking forward to working with National Geographic Channel as it will be an ideal mix of knowledge and fun. In my new role as a quizmaster I will endeavor to ensure that participants are at ease and have as much fun playing the game as I will have hosting it.”
