GEC Watch: Diya Aur Baati tops chart; Colors back with 3 shows in top 10

Once again, the new week has seen a significant reshuffle in the pecking order of the top 10 weekday shows on Hindi general entertainment channels. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 7 (February 10 - 16) of TAM 2013, there is a new chart topper this week while last week's chart topper has slipped to No. 6 position this week. In terms of number of shows, Star Plus continued to lead the chart with four shows among the top 10 weekday programmes followed by Colors with three shows, Zee TV with two and SAB with one show.
Nach Baliye 5 on Star Plus remains the weekend topper closely followed by Sony's crime shows, Crime Patrol and CID. Nautanki on Colors has dropped further in its third week.
Weekday toppers
Diya Aur Baati Hum has become the first show on Star Plus to grab the top slot this year. It garnered an average TVR of 4.8 (last week 4.2).
Interestingly, Star Plus holds the second spot also. Its other fiction show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, climbed two positions to No. 2 this week with an average rating of 4.3 TVR (last week 3.9).
Colors' Balika Vadhu remained unchanged at No. 3 despite adding more eyeballs this week. The show averaged at 4.3 TVR this week (last week 3.9).
Sasural Simar Ka on Colors climbed six positions to No. 4 this week and garnered an average TVR of 3.9 this week (last week 3.1).
SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma fetched an average TVR of 3.9 against last week's 3.8 TVR. The show slipped two positions to No. 5.
Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke slipped 5 positions to No. 6 this week. The show recorded an average TVR of 3.9 (last week 4.3).
Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai also slipped two positions to No. 7 with average TVR of 3.8 this week (last week 3.9).
Star Plus' fiction show, Saathiya, has slipped one positions to No. 8 this week, with an average of 3.6 TVR this week (last week 3.6).
Zee TV's Qubool Hai, that entered the top 10 club last week at No. 8, held No. 9 position this week with 3.4 TVR (last week 3.3).
Madhubala on Colors held No. 10 position with an average of 3.4 TVR (last week 3.0).
Weekend toppers
Star Plus' Nach Baliye 5 retained the No. 1 position among weekend shows with a small margin. The show fetched an average of 2.9 TVR (last week 3.0).
Sony's crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.8 TVR this week (last week 2.8).
Sony's other crime show, CID, recorded an average TVR of 2.7 (last week 2.8).
Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 2.3 TVR (last week 2.1).
Fear Files on Zee TV garnered an average rating of 1.8 TVR this week (last week 2.3).
Sony's Adalat fetched 1.7 TVR this week (last week 1.6).
Colors' comedy show, Nautanki, dropped further in the third week and recorded an average TVR of 1.6 (last week 2.1).
Star Plus' crime fiction Arjun has also seen a decline and fetched 1.3 TVR (last week 1.6).
