Bournvita Lil' Champs ropes in Kajol for new campaign
The commercial, created by Ogilvy & Mather, is a delightful banter between a mother, played by Kajol, and her inquisitive son

Bournvita Lil' Champs, the nutritional chocolate drink for 2 to 5-year-olds, has launched its latest TVC featuring actress and mother of two, Kajol. Being a young mother, Kajol identifies with the need for parents to provide their children with adequate nutrition as well as physical and mental stimulation to develop their young minds. The commercial has been created by Ogilvy & Mather India.
The TVC is a delightful banter between a mother, played by Kajol, and her inquisitive son. She leaves no stone unturned in unearthing facts about the shape of the moon and colour of the sky. After rummaging through books and the Internet, she ultimately finds out that “aasman mein anginit tare hai”. Thrilled and overjoyed she approaches her son with her new-found answer, only to be faced by a different mind boggling query: “February mein 28 days kyun hote hai?” In the closing sequence the lively mom tells all young parents: “Thodi mehnat to aapko bhi karni paregi.”
Narayan Sundararaman, Director - Beverages, Candy & Gum, Consumer Insights & Strategy, Cadbury India, said, “We are excited to be associated with Kajol and have her endorse Bournvita Li'l Champs. Our focus remains in addressing a mother's concern to get the right balance of nutrition for the physical and mental well-being of her child. We have helped millions of mothers by providing the essential nutrients for their 2-5-year-old children that might otherwise be lacking in their daily diet. As a mother of two children, Kajol is a representation of this focus and we look forward to our relationship with her.”
Abijit Avasthi, National Creative Director, Ogilvy India, added, “Post millennium, parenting has undergone a paradigm shift. Mothers, in particular, are taking an eager interest in educating themselves on what's best for their children. This is also why they're better read and hence, better prepared for anything their child throws their way.”
