Star Movies to premiere Marvel's The Avengers on Jan 26

The most highly anticipated movie event of the year will premiere at 1pm with a repeat telecast at 9pm

This Republic Day, catch the biggest super heroes assemble to fight the ultimate evil and save mankind – Star Movies brings to its viewers the most highly anticipated movie event of the year - Marvel's The Avengers on 26th January at 1pm with a repeat telecast at 9pm.

Marvel's The Avengers is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. During its theatrical release, the film had set numerous box office records, including the biggest opening weekend and the fastest film to gross $1 billion worldwide. With a worldwide total gross of over $1.5 billion, Marvel's The Avengers ranks as the third highest-grossing film of all time.

In the movie, the iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) answer the call to action when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., initiates a daring, globe-spanning recruitment effort to assemble The Avengers team to defeat an unexpected enemy threatening global safety and security. Despite putting together the ultimate dream team, Nick Fury and longtime confidant Agent Coulson must find a way to convince the Super Heroes to work with, not against each other, when the powerful and dangerous Loki gains access to the Cosmic Cube and its unlimited power.
