Dainik Bhaskar India Pride Awards honour the contribution of Central and State PSUs

The 4th India Pride Awards were held on January 28, 2013 inNew Delhi. M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, was the Chief Guest. Ramesh Chandra Agarwal, Chairman, Dainik Bhaskar Group, and Girish Agarwal, Director, Dainik Bhaskar Group, were also present.
Dainik Bhaskar India Pride Awards have been held every year since its inception in 2009 to honour the contribution of Central and State PSUs in their respective sectors. The awards are evaluated by a jury process supported by recommendations from rating agency ICRA.
With every passing year the awards ceremony has seen new categories being added. In the year 2009, it started with recognising only Central PSUs. Since the awards were very well received by all the participating PSUs, in 2010 State PSUs were included along with the Central PSUs.
In the third year, to increase its grandeur, two new categories, namely, Social Change Agent and Impact Creator - Civil Servants were added. The objective was to recognize the individuals who had done distinguished work for the betterment of society in various fields.
This year, in its 4th year, a new category was added – Best Creative for PSUs.
Ramesh Chandra Agarwal, Chairman, Dainik Bhaskar Group, lauded the efforts of PSUs for their contribution to the Indian economy. He further reiterated that both the Central and State PSUs are doing a tremendous job and awards like these act as encouragement for them to achieve higher goals. He recommended that government should remove impediments in the path of PSUs to enable accelerated growth.

This will encourage PSUs to compete in the field of creative communication. Not only chief guest Veerappa Moily suggested ways how to take this property forward, he said that let PSU compete directly with the private players and even then they will stand out. I'm sure that India Pride Awards will continue to grow year-on-year basis.”
