GEC Watch: Star Plus leads weekday programming; Sony rules weekend

Star Plus leads with 4 shows in Top 10, followed by Colors with 3 shows, Zee TV with 2 and SAB with one in Week 3 of TAM 2013

According to TAM data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 3 (January 13 - 19, 2013) of TAM 2013, there is a tie between Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus and Balika Vadhu on Colors for the top slot  while SAB's Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma became the third most watched show of the week. Among top 10 weekday programmes, Star Plus leads with four shows followed by Colors with three shows, Zee TV with two shows and SAB with one show.

Sony's CID took the top position among weekend shows followed by Nach Baliye 5 on Star Plus.

Colors Screen Awards aired on January 19 rated 3.9 TVR over 4 hours. Among new show launches, Colors' 'Sanskar' and 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuchh Kaha' Season 2 opened at 1.7 TVR and 2.3 TVR, respectively. 'Amita ka Amit' on Sony opened at 1.1 TVR while SAB's 'Hum Hai Aapke In-Laws' and 'Tota Weds Maina' opened at 1.4 TVR and 1.1 TVR, respectively.

Weekday show toppers

Colors' Balika Vadhu and Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus shared the top position in the third week of TAM 2013. Both the shows fetched an average TVR of 4.4.

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma remained the third most watched show in Week 3 of TAM 2013. The show averaged 4.4 TVR this week (last week 4.4).

Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke climbed four positions to No. 4 this week. The show recorded an average TVR of 4.0 (last week 3.5).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus slipped one position to No. 5 with an average rating of 3.8 TVR (last week 4.3).

At No. 6 this week is Star Plus' fiction show Saathiya with an average TVR of 3.7 (last week 3.7).

Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV made an entry at No. 7 with improved ratings in Week 3 of TAM 2013. The show fetched an average of 3.5 TVR (last week 3.1).

At No. 8, Colors' Sasural Simar Ka garnered an average TVR of 3.5 this week (last week 3.5).

Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai slipped two positions to No. 9 with average TVR of 3.5 this week (last week 3.6).

Colors' Madhubala slipped four positions to No. 10. The show fetched an average TVR of 3.4 (last week 3.6).

Weekend toppers

Sony's crime show CID topped the weekend programming with 3.4 average TVR (last week 3.7).

Nach Baliye on Star Plus held the second position with an average of 3.0 TVR against last week's 3.6 TVR.

Sony's Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe averaged at 2.9 TVR (last week 3.3).

KBC on Sony averaged at 2.7 TVR (last week 3.9).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.7 TVR this week (last week 2.8).

Fear Files on Zee TV fetched an average rating of 2.4 TVR this week (last week 2.1).

Adalat on Sony fetched an average TVR of 1.7 this week (last week 1.7).

Star Plus' crime fiction Arjun has fetched 1.3 TVR (last week 1.6).

Zee TV's flagship singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa recorded an average of 0.7 TVR in Week 3 (last week 0.7).
