GEC Watch: Balika Vadhu tops weekday programming; Nach Baliye rules weekend

In Week 52, Star Plus ruled weekday programming with 4 shows in the top 10 list followed by Colors with 3 shows, Zee TV with 2 shows and SAB TV with one show

Colors' Balika Vadhu has topped weekday programming in the last week of the year while Star Plus' Nach Baliye topped the weekend shows on the back of a strong opening. According to TAM data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 52 (December 23 -29) of TAM 2012, Star Plus ruled weekday programming with four of its shows in the top 10 list followed by Colors with three shows, Zee TV with two shows and SAB TV with one show.

In weekend programming, Sony had four shows in the top 10 – CID, Crime Patrol, Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe and KBC.

Weekday shows

Colors' flagship show Balika Vadhu made a comeback at the top to end the year on a high note. The show fetched an average TVR of 5.2 (last week 4.8).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed one position to No. 2 with an average rating of 4.6 TVR (last week 4.6).

At No. 3, Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke managed to hold eyeballs and recorded an average TVR of 4.4 (last week 4.5).

Star Plus' fiction show Saathiya slipped from last week's top position to No. 4 this week. The show garnered an average TVR of 4.3 (last week 5.1).

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus stood at No. 5 and fetched an average TVR of 4.3 in Week 52 (last week 4.4).

Colors' Madhubala climbed two positions to No. 6 this week. The show garnered an average TVR of 4.1 (last week 3.9).

SAB's top running comedy show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma managed to hold No. 7 rank by fetching an average rating of 4.1 TVR this week (last week 4.0).

At No. 8 was Colors' Sasural Simar Ka with an average TVR of 3.8 this week (last week 4.2).

Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai held the 9^th position and averaged at 3.7 TVR this week (last week 3.8).

Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta lost a few eyeballs this week but managed a birth in top 10. At No. 10, the show recorded an average TVR of 3.2 (last week 3.8).

Weekend toppers

The last week of TAM 2012 saw an entry of a new weekend topper with Nach Baliye 5 opening at 4.1 TVR on Saturday. December 29, 2012.

After Nach Baliye, Sony continues to hold four slots in weekend programming.

At No. 2, CID averaged at 3.4 TVR (last week 3.4).

Sony's Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe slipped to No. 3 with 3.1 TVR (last week 3.1).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.9 TVR this week (last week 3.0).

KBC on Sony dropped to fifth position with an average TVR of 2.7 (last week 3.4).

Fear Files on Zee TV has averaged at 1.9 TVR this week (last week 2.3).

The grand finale of Sur Kshetra on Colors managed 1.6 TVR.

Star Plus' crime fiction Arjun has fetched average ratings of 1.4 TVR (last week 1.1).

Zee TV's flagship singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa dropped to 0.8 TVR in Week 52 (last week 1.1).
