Rohit Dhawan (son of David Dhawan), who made his directorial debut with Desi Boys, directed his first TV commercial with ace cricketer Virat Kohli for a handset brand, Celkon.

Executive Director of Celkon Murali said, “We are in the process of developing mobiles with latest technology like 3G, Android, dual Sim along with lot of entertainment. Since our mobiles are targeted for the youth.Virat was definitely an ideal choice for the “Brand Ambassador” as our brand has come out with the most youthful features as our first focus and we are also kick starting our multimedia campaign with the release of this ad in the running IPL season”.

Virat quoted, “I love challenges and associating with Celkon presented me with an opportunity to partner with a brand that is not satisfied with being one of the most successful brands in South and has now set their sight on the national market. As we know everyone loves watching movies or using multimedia functions on their phone and I am no exception. I am happy to endorse a mobile brand which offers a wide range of multilingual films and various features in one handset. I think the product and the ad are both very well made and I hope viewers will enjoy the ad and the phone. Moreover, i liked the freshness of the creative they had in mind and the ad being directed by Rohit Dhawan was a bonus because I loved his film Desi Boyz".

Rohit Dhawan thoroughly enjoyed his first ad film shoot experience even though it wasn't with a professional actor but a cricketer. He added "Virat is not only a successful cricketer but also a brilliant communicator and actor too. We all know that  he has excellent skills on field and we are sure with this ad he will effectively address his audience his way. Rohit claims "shooting an ad is way easier than shooting a movie".
