UTV Spotboy and Salman Khan Being Human walk away with Wins Best Children's Film, Best Original Screenplay and Best Child Artist categories

publive-imageThe 59th National Film Awards announced today saw Chillar Party, a co-production from UTV Spotboy and Salman Khan Being Human proudly walk away with three prominent awards.

Directed by debutants Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl, Chillar Party, which saw a worldwide release on July 8, 2011, bagged three awards which included the prestigious Best Children's Film. Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari won in the category for Best Original Screenplay and the nine child actors - Irfan Khan, Sanath Menon, Rohan Grover, Nama Jain, Aarav Khanna, Vishesh Tiwari, Chinmai Chandransuh, Vedant Desai and Divij Handa shared the Best Child Artist's Award.

Speaking on these accolades, Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, said, “We are proud and honoured that our film Chillar Party has been conferred with three National Awards. Nitish, Vikas and the entire cast and crew have worked incredibly hard to make this film into something truly special and they deserve all the credit. Chillar Party is the story of a bunch of kids from Chandan Nagar called Encyclopedia, Jhanghia, Akram, Secondhand, Panauti, Silencer, Aflatoon and Shaolin in whose lives enter two strangers - Fatka and Bheedu. And together they alter the course of their future by never giving up on what they believe in.
