CVL Srinivas puts in his papers at Starcom

Srini, as he is popularly known, had joined SMG in January 2011 and the post of Chairman was created when he joined given the importance of the growing Indian market

CVL Srinivas, Chairman, Starcom MediaVest Group India, and Managing Director, LiquidThread – APAC, has put in his papers this morning, it is learnt from reliable informed sources. Srini, as he is popularly known, had joined SMG in January 2011. Given the growing importance of India, SMG had created the position of Chairman to oversee the India operations.

Srini could not be contacted at the time of filing this report, nor did he reply to a text message sent to him.

Srini has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and a Masters in Business Administration from XLRI Jamshedpur. He has previously worked at Maxus and Madison in leadership positions and was part of the start-up team at Fulcrum (now Mindshare-Fulcrum) on the Unilever business.

Prior to returning to the media agency business, Srini was with The Times of India Group as Director – Private Treaties. He moved into that assignment after a successful stint as head of Maxus India.
