McCann Delhi has appointed Sambit Mohanty as Executive Creative Director.
On his appointment, Prasoon Joshi Chief Executive Officer - McCann Worldgroup said, âI am extremely happy to have sambit join us at McCann. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Delhi, Mohanty has about twelve years in advertising & design. Starting out as a copywriter at McCann Erickson, heâs worked in agencies such as Lowe, Publicis, Leo Burnett & Elephant Design.
In his last assignment, Mohanty was the creative head at Bates, New Delhi where he was instrumental in launching Max Bupa Health Insurance and also creating memorable work for Hitachi & Virgin Mobile among other brands.
As a Creative Director at Leo Burnett, he created the âFull of Lifeâ launch campaign for the Chevrolet Spark that included the âwinking carâ commercial.
He was also behind the âWhereâs the Pulp?â campaign for Minute Maid Pulpy Orange â a juice drink from Coke. His film for MMPO - âdeflating orangesâ - is a part of the Leo Burnett showreel and has been aired internationally in countries like Indonesia, Philippines, Kazakhstan and Mexico.
Given his diverse experience, Mohanty has also helped build brands like Dettol, Mortein, Harpic (part of Reckitt-Benckiser), Tanishq, Britannia, Nestle (Maggi), HP, Indian Express, BBC World, Religare, Chevrolet, etc.
An avid quizzer, Sambit is well-known on the Delhi quiz circuit. He has had the distinction of being National runners-up in the Brand Equity Quiz.
