Premiering on August 4, the award winning documentaries will be telecast at 10 pm every Saturday and at 5 pm on Sunday

publive-imageNDTV Profit is back with a second season of highly acclaimed documentaries 'Docs+', a new weekly series showcasing powerful documentaries on global issues. Offering a bouquet of these documentaries, Docs+ focuses on sensitive social and environmental issues like child marriage, farmer suicides, water privatization, sustainable agriculture and trafficking of women amongst many others.

Docs+ will premiere on Saturday, 4th August and will air every weekend on Saturday at 10:00 PM and Sunday at 5:00 PM. Viewers will be invited to visit the website www.docsplus.in where they can find factual information, deeper resources plus volunteer opportunities. Viewers can also log on to Youtube.com to view repeats of these documentaries.

This is the second season of award-wining social documentaries curated by Link Media, based in San Francisco, in partnership with Fuse Global, a social innovation investment fund for media and technology. The series is designed to tackle taboo subjects, increase conversation and promote civic engagement around global issues.

Docs+ offers a platform for upcoming and prominent documentary filmmakers to draw attention to socially relevant issues and sensitize citizens. Some of the award-winning documentaries lined up for August are Earth Focus, directed by Raisa Scriabine on agriculture and environment; Bitter Seeds by Micha Peled about the impact of GM crops on farmers and Shalini Kantayya's documentary Drop of Life on access to clean drinking water.

Watch the Docs+ premiere episode on Saturday, 4th August with 'Child Brides -Stolen Lives', a heart touching documentary on girl child marriages and customs that hold back communities.
