NDTV Good Times brings new reality show 'Fat Man & 13 Brides'

This August, India's premier lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times is all set to bring Fat Man Bikramjit Ray to your television screens, as he eats his way across the country in search of a perfect wife. Wondering what are we talking about? We all know that consummate foodie Bikramjit loves food and usually ends up going to great lengths to find a perfect dish. And this time, he is travelling across India in search of authentic local community food in his journey to get married; in Bikramjit's words, he is looking for “A match made in the kitchen”. And this though has given birth to a brand new show - Fat Man & 13 Brides.

In this unique show, Bikramjit will visit 13 traditional Indian families such as the Rajputs in Jaipur, the Jats in Harayana and even a Malyali family in Noida, as he searches for an ideal wife and the food she makes. Not only this, our foodie-at-heart will give us a fly-on-the-wall perspective into the community and their food in all the episodes. The show will focus on showcasing rare and authentic recipes, which will ultimately be shared by the girl.

Bikramjit will visit towns and cities to find out about local community cuisines, rituals surrounding traditional Indian wedding preparations, which area cuisine unto themselves, local hot spots as well as the history of the dishes. This light hearted show will revolve around Bikramjit getting to know the girls, their families, their lives and culture and more importantly – their food! The girls and their families eventually decide if our foodie-at-large is indeed, a worthy groom for their daughter.
