MTV ACT on its mission to spread the cheer!

Joins hands with BALKALAAR and initiative by AIESEC that gives opportunities to underprivileged kids to showcase their talent

MTV ACT joins hands with AIESEC, world's largest youth run organisation, to support the hopes and aspirations of the underprivileged kids, to provide them education so that they can turn their dreams into reality. Balkalakaar is an initiative taken up by AIESEC, it is organized with the aim to create opportunities for the under privileged children of the city to discover and develop their potential in creative exercises such as Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Craft. Udaan is an annual initiative of Balkalakaar in Delhi University to bring out the artist in every underprivileged kid. The event gives a platform to more than 5,000 children, to exhibit their talent by expressing themselves through cultural workshops and various competitions. UDAAN- Balkalakaar 2012 was organised on Sunday, 5^th August with 2500 underprivileged under one roof gathered together to showcase their talents.

MTV ACT associated itself with UDAAN Balkalakaar to help underprivileged children to bring out the artistic potential in them, give them a forum to express themselves, and support child sponsorship programme, “GIFT A DREAM”.  AIESEC in Delhi University's Development Sector has promised families of 200 kids to provide them with better future. MTV ACT took its first step to help Udaan to fulfil the dreams of these kids. MTV's very own VJ Rhea was an integral part of the Udaan event. VJ Rhea's lively and bubbly nature encouraged the children to participate in the event with full joy. VJ Rhea also explained “It's always a delight to be part of such unique activity and encourage young kids to participate. I hope through our little acts we will be able to spread cheer and help encourage the kids.”

The main highlight of the event was an art competition. Simultaneously there was a carnival where AIESECERS, along with other volunteers put up stalls for the children and the international volunteers. The stalls included face-painting, cake-stalls, games and others.

Amongst all the fun and a memory of a lifetime, Udaan 2012, has managed to raise 300000 rupees to support the initiative. MTV ACT aims at helping Udaan Balkalakaar raise money so that more kids can get the education they deserve. By simply donating 3000 rupees you can sponsor a child's education for one full year.
