Havas Media Asia Pacific has announced the reappointment of Anita Nayyar as CEO of India and South Asia. She rejoins the agency after a short stint with Bennett, Coleman & Company (BCCL), where she was Head of Customer Strategy. She had joined BCCL in April this year.

Commenting on Nayyar's return, Vishnu Mohan, CEO of Havas Media Asia Pacific, said, “We are delighted that Anita has decided to return to the agency. While I met many potential candidates over the last few months, when the choice did open up I had no doubt in my mind that she would be the right person to helm the India and South Asia operations. Her network knowledge, prior track record, industry experience and seniority made it all relatively easy for me to decide who to place my trust in.”

On her return, Nayyar said, “While the assignment at BCCL was interesting, I missed the fast-paced work environment of a media agency. I guess my heart lies on this side and there could not have been a better assignment than the one I left behind at Havas. I look forward to continuing to work with my fantastic team at Havas Media.”

Nayyar has more than 25 years' experience in the media industry. She was recognised as the most influential media person in India by The Brand Equity Survey for two consecutive years in 2006 and 2007. She has worked with some leading agencies in India including Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Initiative Media, MediaCom and Starcom Worldwide.

Nayyar joined Havas Media in 2007 as CEO of MPG and was later promoted as CEO of Havas Media for South Asia and India. Under her leadership, the agency's business grew exponentially. She has also been responsible for successfully launching specialist brands in India. Havas Media's stable of brands in India currently includes MPG, Havas Digital, Havas Sports & Entertainment, MPG Active and Mobext.
