ABP Group, the largest media conglomerate of eastern India, has launched a unique app for iPad and iPhone to cater to the wide and rapidly growing global Bengali mobile Internet consumers.

With a growing market of over 55 million iPads globally, the company feels that it is absolutely essential to provide the Bengali users with an app optimised for their iOS devices (iPads/iphones/iPods).

'My Anandabazar' is the first Bengali language iOS application of its kind with a diverse range of features. It offers live Bengali news, Bengali e-magazines, Bengali movies, cuisine videos, online radio, Bengali blogs by eminent writers and live TV streams of ABP Ananda and Sananda TV.

"We are excited to release this new universal app to address the booming iOS market for Bengali communities; said Kaushik Banerjee, VP-Digital & English Magazines, ABP Group.

With new additions every fortnight, the movies section offers an assortment of Bengali classics. The 'retro' radio channel 'Radio Ananda' enlivens the surreal imagery of old times.

The video recipe section 'Ponchobyanjon' creates authentic taste of Bengal, stirring up rare and traditional recipes in specially shot videos. Moreover, New recipe videos will be added every fortnight.

Four Bengali magazines – Desh, Sananda, Ananandamela and Anandalok – are also available on the app.

A major attraction is the live TV channels. While ABP Ananda provides all the updates on local events, politics, entertainment and sports, Sananda TV brings the wide spectrum of quality Bengali entertainment soaps, reality shows and more. Chat shows aired which have been on ABP Ananda have become quite a television phenomenon. The good news is that now, one can catch a show on iPhone or iPad instead!

iPad/iPhone users can now download the ABP App from the App Store for free and enjoy a premium browsing experience. Being a universal app, users only need to download one app that will work on both iPhone and iPad.
