The Tata Housing initiative 'Mumbai Wallbook' witnessed the spirit of Mumbaikars with 600 participants brightening the walls along Tulsi Pipe Road on May 20, a Sunday morning. The roaring success of the initiative saw participation from all walks and age groups etching their dreams and 15,000 “Likes” on their Facebook page a week prior.

The theme 'Design your Dream City' was an opportunity given to all citizens of Mumbai to artistically represent their dream for their city. The paintings sent out important social messages with themes that were quintessentially Mumbai. Themes of anti-crime, anti-corruption, eco-awareness, non-violence, Bollywood frenzy and Ganesha adorned the 2 km long wall.

Rajeeb Dash, Head of Marketing at Tata Housing, said, "We are very happy to see so many people come in so early on a Sunday and paint their dream for Mumbai. Citizens are the key instrument of change in any city and I am overwhelmed by the response and have the faith that people of this city will be catalysts in making it better. This is Mumbai Wallbook's first chapter and we hope for many more."

The enthusiasm began at sunrise with cheerful participants who registered for the event. Amongst others were a mother and infant who took the effort to beautify the city's walls with important messaging of zero crime by 2014, and an elderly lady and her daughter who embellished the walls with a Mumbai of greener pastures.

The event hosted by Tata Housing witnessed MLA Nitin Sardesai, a passionate architect, and Rob, a popular art show TV host from Pogo channel brushed a few strokes on the wall as well.
