Zee News, in its role as a responsible media house, has always been at the forefront in raising and addressing issues of national importance. Whether it is decreasing voter percentage - threatening the world's biggest democracy or changing climate, one of the biggest threats faced by human beings.

In line with the same ideology, Zee News is set to once again draw people's attention to another pivotal issue that is 'water crisis'. The channel is launching the second edition of its 'Saaf Pani Swastha Bharat' initiative; an attempt to educate the masses about the importance of clean water and the need to conserve it.

publive-imageSpeaking on behalf of Zee News, Marketing Head Rohit Kumar said, “Both water crisis and water borne diseases continue to pose a serious threat. For the second year, we shall endeavour to spread awareness about these threats and not only awaken people's thought to it, but generate public response by inspiring them to act.”

The campaign will not only sensitize people about the shortage of pure water faced across the world, but also educate them on ways to save it by telecast of educational TVC's, tips to save water and informative programming. Other conventional mediums such as print, radio, etc will also be put to use in addition to online and other very popular social media forms.

The initiative will also witness India's biggest and first of its kind river expedition being organized in association with elite Indo- Tibetan Border Police Force. The expedition is aimed at drawing people's attention to the plight of sacred Ganga and the need to conserve it. The two-month long expedition will commence on 24th April 2012 from Gomukh and culminate at Gangasagar covering more than 2510 kms of distance.

Multi–city ground events comprising discussions, oath ceremony, signature campaigns and rallies will be organized by Zee News across this route felicitating direct interaction with the masses. The events will be graced by the presence of VVIP dignitaries including Hon'ble Chief Ministers of respective states.
