Globetrotter extraordinaire Ian Wright is back to discover the world's best travel destinations through authentic local experiences in new episodes of INVITE MR WRIGHT only on India's favourite lifestyle channel- TLC. Thanks to Ian's friends from across the world, who offer not just their hospitality but an inside track into their home turf! Follow Ian as he is invited to some of the best tourist destinations in the world by the people who call those places home. From Sikkim to Singapore and more, Ian gets a different perspective on life and culture in these vibrant places. INVITE MR WRIGHT 2 will air on TLC every Monday at 8PM, starting March 26th.

The first season of INVITE MR WRIGHT took a humorous and off-beat look at the world of travel. This new season sees our intrepid host back for more, this time in India, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam where he hangs out with an eclectic mix of people to learn about the life of the locals.

Rahul Johri, Senior Vice President and General Manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said, “TLC continues to bring the best of lifestyle entertainment to Indian television homes. Ian Wright is an iconic host and enjoys tremendous popularity in India. Invite Mr Wright is an extremely entertaining series where Ian explores the country through the eyes of his host, their family and friends.”

Whether staying with a monk in the Himalayas, a Japanese professional football club in Okinawa, or a tribesman in rural Vietnam, Ian participates in the lives, jobs and hobbies of his hosts and discovers that there is always more than what meets the eye.

Below are some of the destinations Ian travels to in INVITE MR WRIGHT 2:

Okinawa, Japan

Ian travels to the southern-most island of Japan where he is the guest of Ryuku FC, the island's only professional football team. After meeting the team and their manager, Ian suddenly discovers that he has to step into the role of acting team mascot. By the end of his stay, Ian has learnt what he needs to represent the team in their all-important qualifying match on mainland. He invents a new mascot for the team - but will his new-found mascot skills propel the team to victory?

Sumatra, Indonesia

Ian travels deep into the jungles of Sumatra in Indonesia where he is invited by a group of wildlife conservationists who have been protecting the island's diverse ecosystem against land developers and pollution. Going in search of the elusive orang-utan in its natural habitat proves disastrous for Ian and crew as their boat capsizes, leaving them scrambling to salvage precious filming equipment and footage. On the remote island of Bangkaru, our traveller experiences a profound moment as he watches an endangered female green turtle laying eggs on the beach.

Darwin, Australia

Ian travels to Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory, invited by the intrepid men of the Top End Mud Racing Association. His hosts, the Diwell family, come from the Northern Territory where the people are known for their warmth, competitiveness and crazy antics. The Diwells set out to toughen Ian up so that he can ride along with them at the next race meeting. From high impact Aussie Rules Football and eating termite mounds to crocodile feeding, goose hunting, and monster crab fishing, Ian tries to prove that he can mix it with this tough Northern Territory mob and earn his right to ride!

Sapa, Vietnam

Ian is invited to meet the hill tribes around Sapa, Northern Vietnam. His host is Shu Tan, a young woman from the Black H'Mong ethnic minority, a tribe that is striving to maintain their traditional way of life in one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. Ian volunteers at Shu's school, a place where the hill tribes can learn simple skills to succeed in modern Vietnam. She manages to get Ian an invitation to a wedding ceremony in a remote village of the Red Zhao tribe where Ian experiences three days and three nights of revelry!

Rumtek Monastery, India

Ian travels to the remote Indian state of Sikkim, as the guest of the monks of its incredibly beautiful and renowned Rumtek monastery. Set high in the foothills of the Himalayas, on the border with Tibet, Ian is guided in his stay by three of the Rumtek monks: Fu, Shirup and Lee. Together, they show him every aspect of life in this famous monastery. From art classes, to music lessons, from cooking lunch for the 300 monks to debating classes and meditation lessons, Ian learns how much there is to being a monk.

Singapore

Ian Wright is the guest of celebrity chef, Justin Quek. Justin invites Ian to spend a week at his world class restaurant, Sky on 57, located at the top of the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Ian gets a crash course into life in the culinary fast lane and is challenged by Justin to come up with a signature dish of his own to impress his friends.
